Willow Shoes is a classic kiwi success story of one woman with long feet, a tragically empty shoe rack, a long list of awful shoe shopping stories to tell - and a love of fashion! The idea for Willow Shoes was sparked by yet another fruitless shopping trip - this time for the essential pair of wedding shoes.
Willow Shoes first operated in a dining room with a black labrador close by and a lot of time spent gathering up the shoes and hauling them around hotel venues all over New Zealand on our infamous "shoe tours". We were on a mission to prove that women with long feet really are out there wanting great shoes - not just black lace ups - no thanks! On these tours we saw your faces glow at the sight of all our shoes on display, and often also tears. We listened to suggestions for styles you dreamed of and we learned a lot about feet, gathering a great following of still loyal Willow customers all over New Zealand along the way. Over 10 years on we now have beautiful retail stores in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and now Hamilton too, as well as our website.
This Spring Summer season marks a lot of change in Willow Shoes since the beginning just over 10 years ago when we started with just 27 different shoes in our very first shoe catalogue and with a large number of customers that probably didnt own computers. Ten years on we are in a different world and have become a bit more technical with a bright and clever new website that lets you see if your size and style is in stock any time of day and zooms in nice and close on the shoes! We are still the same friendly and welcoming "Willow Girls" we have always been and we are still happy to offer advice if you prefer to call and 'talk to a real person'. While we all love technology, we still think there is nothing on this earth more exciting than a room full of shoes you can touch and happily just ask for in your size!
